Welcome, One And All, To The Boomerang Press
We are The Boomerang Press, and we're all about giving Millennials a voice.
All of our blogs are written by people born after 1980. We noticed that most columnists, with a few notable and honourable exceptions, were in the generations above, and though us youngsters were discussed a lot, often with a slight sneer, our actual thoughts and opinions weren't being expressed. The Boomerang Press decided to rectify that.
Named after the term "Boomerang Generation", which references our apparent reluctance to enter adulthood, the aim of our publication is to give a voice to Millennials from all different walks of life. You may disagree with what our contributors have to say, you may think they are utter geniuses. Who knows? You may even change your mind.
The decision to create this site came, in part, as a response to the Brexit vote. There is a palpable feeling of disappointment among many in the Millennial generation that parents and family members voted to leave, even after their children had begged them not to. This site is not here to complain about the result, or to sulk, or to moan at the people who did vote to leave, but merely to show the older generation that we aren’t just a bunch of slackers obsessed with our phones and unwilling to grow up. We are the future, and we want to show that the future is in good hands.
Our aim is to be as engaging, informative and entertaining as possible, and we want every article published on this site to be one that everyone will want to read. We are not all bleeding heart liberals, nor are we staunch conservatives. We are simply the next generation, and this is our voice.
We are always looking for new voices to be heard, and if you feel you have something to say, feel free to send us a message. If you want to comment, please do. Enjoy!
